This cup was the original trophy of the Public Schools Third and Colts Eights Regatta. It was presented in 1947 by Dr. Frankland West, who was the School doctor of St. Edwards School, for the fastest Third Eight. The Boat Clubs of St. Edwards and Shrewsbury added the plinth.||a|J16A8+c|Desmond Hill Colts Cupe|Junior Under 16 Boys Class A Eightsq|f|King's School, Chester r|6.13.58 y|1997h|King's School, Chestert|This cup was presented in 1985 by the St. Edwards Martyrs to replace the old Colts Cup and to be a memorial to Desmond Hill, who founded the Regatta in 1947 while master in charge of rowing at St. Edwards School. Many of the Martyrs who contributed to this cup rowed in the Regatta and were coached by Desmond Hill, who organised the Regatta up to his death in 1984.
