What happens when you select a download will depend on what browser you use (e.g. MS Internet Explorer). Your browser may open the software you have associated with that type of file or just open it in a new browser window. (If it's clever - it may ask you what you want to do). In most cases, all you need to do is select "File","Save as" and save the file where you want it on your own computer.
